6 days imperial cities via anti-Atlas

Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat

Pick-up from the Hotel in Casablanca. We will visit the city and start to see the Hassan II Mosque, later we will experience the coastal “Cornish ” seaside. Afternoon, we continue to Rabat where we will have a 2 hours visit including the Hassan Mosque, a wonder of the medieval Moorish world with its great minaret left unfinished when its founder died in 1199, the Chellah necropolis and Oudaya Kasbah. Spend the night at the Riad. 

Day 2: Rabat – Meknès – Volubilis –  Fez 

Afternoon having breakfast, we will head to Meknès, the 16th century capital whose ruler, Moulay Ismail, modeled himself on France’s ‘Sun King’, Louis XIV. 

Afterwards, we drive ahead to explore with a local guide the remarkable Roman ruins of Volubilis, with its mosaics and temples. 

Continue to Fez where you will spend the night at the Riad.

Day 3: Guided visit of Fez

All day devoted to visiting Fez, the oldest of the imperial cities, home to the world’s first university dating from the 9th century and one of the most complete medieval cities in existence, founded in 790 A.D. Seeming to exist somewhere between the middle ages and today, the Soul of Morocco stimulates the senses with its visual details, haunting sounds and rich aromas. Guided visit of medieval Medina, Karaouine University, Medersa Attarine, Kingdom Palace, Ben Denane Synagogue, souks. Spend the night at the Riad.

Day 4:  Fez – Ifrane – Beni Mellal – Marrakech

Depart after breakfast from Fez across the Middle Atlas Mountains, visit Ifrane, a ski resort full of Alpine chalets with red-tiled roofs. Continue to Beni-Mellal, the largest town in the Middle Atlas, for lunch. Giant cedar forests, volcanic mountains, strings of lakes and plains producing oranges, olives and sugar cane line the road. Arrive to Marrakech and spend the night in the Riad.

Day 5: Marrakech Sightseeing – Guided city tour

We will ensure that you will see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest including the Koutoubia tower, Synagogue, the Medrassa Ben Youssef and the Bahia Palace. Afternoon, we will continue to explore the new part of Marrakech called GUELIZ with a car. After having lunch we take you to visit the Majorelle Gardens.

Day 6: Marrakech airport transfer

After having breakfast we will depart to Marrakesh’s international airport .
